Chapter Philanthropy & Service

Along with a national philanthropy, each chapter chooses a local philanthropy to support. This local philanthropy usually has a connection to the chapter personally.

The Alpha Zeta chapter partners with the NELA Special Olympics!

The Special Olympics is a leader in the field of intellectual disability and the world’s largest movement dedicated to promoting respect, acceptance, inclusion and human dignity for people with intellectual disabilities. Their mission is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.

Here are just a few ways our chapter has served on campus and within the community:

R-Word Day

Dixie Diehard Baseball League

Special Olympics Cycling

NELA Heart Walk

2016 Flood Disaster Relief
